The food scene in Nairobi is good and compared to other East African cities, it’s growing, changing and evolving slowly but surely. However, does it ever just feel a bit safe?
There are countless curry houses, pizza places and burger joints. If you are coming from overseas you can start to miss the variety you may have found back home. Well fear not! As an avid foodie, I’ve complied a list of cuisines you may not have known you can find here in Nairobi. Some of these are restaurants and others are take away only options, but they should satisfy your needs when you are seriously craving a hot bowl of pho or a flaky crusty pie.
Greek food at Gyros 2 Go
A little kiosk nestled at the back of Valley Arcade, this sit down haven serves up hot roasted meat from a kebab roller along with fresh pickles, salads and sauces you can slather on a gyros and make you feel like you’re in a Greek taverna.
The outside patio setting has white painted furniture and deep blue awnings to give adding to the ambience and the menu also features pizzas, gluten free breads and fresh juices.
You can find them on Facebook or at Valley Arcade, Gitanga Rd or call on 0704 424424
